About I am interested in your feedback on this shot. I took a shot of a heron in the early evening. The contrast between the sky and the bird was too much.

I liked the image composition so rather than throw it away, I tried converting to a mild sepia and adding film grain.

What do you think?

You wanted to throw away this marvel !!!!!. You must be mad.

What lovely image. Perfect timing when its just about to take flight.

Pity only so few have commented on this wonderful image.

Dear Bob,

I am a medical research scientist, and I am creating a brochure to advertise a research conference we are holding in April, 2005. I would like to ask you if I could use your image of the heron.

Please contact me at rogerst@temple.edu

Thanks.

Thanks for the comments. I think I agree with you Terrence.

Paolo, I will try a more vertical image as well.

IMHO you can add more emphasis by using a vertical cut of the frame so that heron will be composed following the diagonal.
Yes the sky is not so clear but to shot to this wonderful bird is an experience really interesting.
Well done Bob.

Works for me. I like the effect you got. kind of reminds me of Oriental Painting, which carrys it into the Photoart arena. I really like the shot.

melikes everything here but the extent of the underexposure, just too grey for moi, don't really notice the grain effect so much, but the timing and composition cant be beat, woot~
