About Here's a shot of the center of the Milky way, near the constellation Sagitarius. I scanned it in and PSed it to brighten the star cloud.

Yeah, it's actually a pretty wide section of the sky that is visible by the naked eye on a dark night. It's just not nearly so bright, so to us it looks more like a faint cloud. The five stars at the bottom center in the shape of a house are Sagitarius, the actual center of the Milky Way is just up and to the right of it.

Fabulous capture Blaine, the amount of detail is incredible - you made a very good job scanning this in also :-)
I regret very much parting with my 10" Meade reflector (DS10). Unfortunately, it was very heavy and the motor drive did not work - a lot of people do not realise how fast planets move across the viewfinder lol
Super photo Blaine :-)

Best wishes,
Steve

This only a minute exposure? Fantastic! You must have dark sikes where you are, the light pollution where I am is terrible.

Wow beautiful abstract of space. What's funny to think is your photo here covers so much ground, a whole galaxy in fact. Tim

Love it . . . beyond the beauty of the shot, which is substantial . . . I love the expansiveness that it captures . . .
