Dear Patrick,
very cool series. well seen and executed, well deserved SC ;-)
The quadratic format and the BW setting fits the subject very well. the illusion of several layers is wisely built up, and the motion blurred woman is the cherry in this setting. very interesting and confusing at the same time. The only minor thing for me is the reflection near the lantern which partially destroys the very good two dimension illusion. very minor thing though =)
well done!
I can invite you to visit some of my bw reflection shots (life thru a lens and life thru a mirror) =)

So... What i see this time is that you've shifted [very slightly] the point of focus. I like the blur in this picture of the girl going by. Not sure why, but this shot I like very much straight B&W. do you have the same pic in sepia for comparison?

Patrick, I really cannot decide between the two of them. What I can decide on, is that this is just creative genious. I love the white rectanglur reflections that highlight a few of the people walking in the streets. Very well done, into my favs., very inspiring work very deserving of the award~

Hugo: I took it from the outside.. shooting into an restaurant.. the white part are behind the restaurant.. aka windows. The street is a reflection from back off me. When i found the place i had to take some photos.. when i got back there today.. i took some more which resulted in these two shots. This one isnt changed.. the other one is changed horizontly.

Continuing from the previosu comment, I think this one is even better balanced. Mainly because of the various subjects in relation to eachother. Kind of difficult to explain, but I think the overlap and translucency of the various level add just a tad more tension to the shot. The combination of the levels with the motion blur using a relatively slow shutter is excellent, and so is this shot. Great job, very creative and a perfect exposure...
I wonder which of these two is mirrored, and which is the original. I guess it all comes down to whether you made this shot from the inside out, or from the outside in; difficult to tell. One thing's for sure (i think), it's not a composite image, but it's bloody difficult to tell. I'm guessing you shot this from the inside out, and that this image is mirrored.
Awesome work, very creative as well as impressive and very intriguing.... It keeps me pondering over on how you did this:)
