Probably the most famous landmark in Kathmandu and the largest Stupa in the valley. The all - seeing eyes following Buddhist pilgrims and locals as they circumambulate clockwise, spinning the embossed prayer wheels while they make their way. Shaped like a massive mandala and decorated with strings of fluttering prayer flags it really is a magnificent sight in a very interesting city. No PS used.
Dear Manu, To answer your question about PS - It's because I'm a Photographer, not a computer "toucher - upper" (I'd rather travel the world - while there still is one - for a few more years and shoot than sit at a computer and muck around for hours and hours). I think PS has it's place and when used reasonably is a good thing (in the right hands) and improves the original image without compromising it's integrity. Too many people go MUCH too far with it to the point of when does a photo stop being a photo and become an art project? The art of pure photography is on it's way to extinction the way things are going and I, for one, will be very sad when that happens (if I'm still around).Hope that helps. Take care, Mark
Dear Stan, I agree with you, that's the future (or maybe even already the present) state of photography. I'm still waiting for a year or 2 for prices to drop and more/better features to rise.It always happens, look at DVD recorders. The prices have dropped dramatically. I'll be there (at the back of the line - my Eos 3's and 1n's are still in great shape. All this stuff is getting SO expensive and technical (if you want a top level Canon (EOS 1D) camera $8,000. and Mac Powerbook laptop $2,500 not to mention everything else needed (mama mia, I could get a small apartment in Buenos Aires, a city i love, with that) ....but, someday soon I'll have to make the change it SHALL happen (and at least my wallet will be much thinner). All the best, Mark
Mark, I love what are you doing with your camera and lenses. You have excelent technic and handling of your Canon camera. However, most recent DSLRs are allowing are helping toward perfection by allowing to see results after each shot. Sure even better will be to have Laptop with you to see full resulution image. You may check Canon 20D, or D70 by Nikon. You may find them great tools in your hands.
This could be viewed as a phalic symbol and could upset many people.... School makes me bored and so I thought of this. all my college education is paying off. I'll give you a 7
