Quite nice, though I would have waited a second longer to see the bird turn the head towards the lens, so that we could see the eye. Otherwise the shot is not too strong...

It?s a synthesis between a biologist way to look into scnes and a photographer with great technique.

Hi Jorg, this is a very cool shot. The close up view on these flamengo's does work perfectly, as there's no background or peripheral and distracting elements, I think. It really makes this image tick. Very well composed, and an excellent use of DOF to preserve the element of depth. Great shot!
