Normally I'd say that use of the Rule of Thirds is advised in composing a photo, but in the case of the second suggested crop, I think it puts to bird's object of gaze to far off to the side and crowds the subject a bit.
"Rule of Thirds" is a misnomer, anyway. It should be "Pretty-Good-Suggestion-But-Not-Law of Thirds". If you wanted to play with PGSNLofT, I'd recommend cropping behind the bird, not in front. :)
Ooops. Some people would say "framing behind the bird" because "cropping" makes it sounds like you're farming. hee hee hee

very nice mode and perspective.. I have already seen yesterday your simple photo and of little elements but he loads! the much beautiful and also idea of "cut".. I personally would have cut more, to close "the pigeon" on the left. like in order not scappare!!! optimal dof roby 7+

This really is an awesome image. The perspective is superb! I agree with the crop also. That's why I love this site. It's made me look at things is totally different ways than I did before. Nice job!

Fantastic perspective Stephen! This is something to be proud of, it is such a simple, subtle photograph, but the perspective you have captured is wonderful. Personally, I think the bar in the background detracts from the strength of the image - see repost.
Congrats.
