I think I agree with someone else about the detail in the hair only being important due to the black background (because it would have separated them a bit). Otherwise I like the composition and tonality..:)

Hi Pat! I love this kind of shallow DOF and high angle. I don't think you lost any important detail by that. The only thing might be the black hair against the black background.

I like serious expressions for black and white portraits especially head shots. The shallow depth of field works well here emphasising her eyes nicely. Good work.
