I don`t know but ur photo remebered me about that movie "the Ring"; Good compo again and I like the scratches and mixed with the tones from the sky give me an impression of mistery and something old.

:-))) Kinda funny. We're on the same track camera-wise. Santa brought me a 20D, too. And I also love my 1V. I know exactly what I get from her. Digital is kinda freaky, especially on speed >400. Very nice image, my friend and a happy new year!!! CB

Hi Kevin
As hard as I tried I was unable to come up with scratches that seemed to work. So I developed an unexposed roll of film and went to work on it scratching, ripping, tearing and a number of other criminal offences. I then scanned it via my film scanner and I now have them on my hard drive for future use.

Hi Toby
yeah the blur was intentional and it is along the top of the image just not as noticable.
As for the line that was a result of blending the scratch marks on the lower half of the frame. I could have removed it with a mask but I quite like the tampered feel it gave so I decided to leave it in.

I, too, love my film camera, but images such as this soften up my dislike of digital a bit. :)
Very intense, emotional piece. The title works very well in directing one to the heart of the photograph.

Mark,
This image is full of emotion... feels like it came out of your film camera too. Thanks for sharing how you've created those scratches. I might have to come up with some of the same. What is that line in the bottom third of the photo though? Did you intentionally blur the bottom of the image?
cheers TOby

neat shot - great distressed photo look - I do have a question regarding the scratches on your digital "negative" - I have tried without much success do do that in PS. Can you tell me in 1000 words or less how to do it? K

thank you for sharing. and so i was told, that it is almost impossible to create realistic scratch marks in PS but have to do them physically..thanks again.

Hi Jasmine
Thanks for your comment on my work. As for the scatches they were produced by actually scratching negatives and then scanning them via a film scanner. They are then used as part of a composite with varying degrees of blending to get the right feel to the image.
