A striking photo, brian. I was wondering if this could be a nuclear plant. The wind and slow exposure makes it a bit mystical.

I was born about 20 minutes away from where this photo was taken and all of my maternal family still live there..... Hull is know for being a rough town and not the nicest of places..... But may I say WOW! This is an amazing shot and I was stunned to see Hull in the location!

Powerful....pardon the pun! The blue here is great and the gradient, especially in the vapor off the cooling towers, is beautiful. Above all you've found beauty in a scene that is usually ugly and normally is used to show the excesses of our energy greedy society. Very well done indeed. Sal

Brian, I've wanted to take a shot like this of the towers of Didcot powerstation but never seem to be near there at the right time! Nice light and the wind's produced a nice effect. Might have tried 1 or 1/2 stop less exposure.

Really Excellent, the choice of using long exposure is great, adding a very effective atmosphere to this industrial view. Color tones, with blue dominant, is also a great key point in this shot.
My compliments.
Ale PS: Sadly, i see that about the "photo of the day" award is happening the same thing happened to my "Jumped in" shot. It is the photo of the day but it's not in the main UF page. why ?

Hi Brian, The contrast between the beauty and tranquility of the shot (induced by the composition, the tone and the softness due to the slow shutterspeed) and the nature of the subject with it's raw and technological atmosphere is what makes this image tick for me. Very good shot!~
Cheers,
Hugo
