About I did not know why i come up with the name. Just pop out from my mind. This is a backyard in chinatown in singapore. It is actually nothing special about the back lane so i decided to use photoshop to do some editing to make it more interesting. Feel free to give any comments, bad or good will still be appreciated. cheers!

I like the dual tones very much and the ray of light brings color to the main subject. but here the walls of the alley are just as important with their beautiful textures and details. Alison

Great example of how to use selective coloring. Here we have these crumbling walls in b&w, and this cart of empty boxes which seemed to have travelled back in time to enter this alleyway. Excellent composition, well done~

I'm normally not a big PS fan, but this is a very nice and effective creation. I like the light and how it seems to bring the cart to life. Good work!

Hi, Joe. In my humble opinion, the "pop up" event of your mind that encouraged you to do this is because it came from your deepest heart...:)
The composition is great. The cart and the gloomy background emphasize the title. I don't know whether the ray of light was original, but this is a creative and meaningful picture. Thanks for sharing your comment on my photo. Come visit Jakarta one day, I'll show you some interesting places for hunting...:)
Take care,
Hanggan-Indonesia

wonderful image Joe. i find myself agreeing with Hugo's comment above. i think if presented totally in B&W, this image would be more appealing.

thanks also, for the kind comment on my 'the horror II' photo.
cheers,
todd

Interesting shot. I love the light and the textures on the far wall. I don't particularly like the cart in color and the rest in B&W. I'd rather see it all in B&W or all in color.

nice work with photoshop. I can understand why this title on this image, it is indeed a hope for some people out there. Some old ladies picking up paper cartons for a living..a hope for survivor. And I also like how u make use of the worn out wall as a background - nice texture and contrast on the wall ..

a good combination of grayscale and rgb in ps,
eventhough the textures and lighting you added is great sthg seems missing .can this be contrast.maybe more was needed here

Hi Hugo! Thank for your comment and really appreciated it. Basically i am trying to bring out the colour of the cart as i think it may look attractive but you are right. Simplcity can be beautiful as well. Thank!

Hi Joe, Cool shot; very functional use of colour and lighting. Maybe even a bit redundant... It's a very good shot, with the textures on the wall, and B&W is probably a good choice, the combination makes it somewhat gimmicy, if you know what I mean. Selective toning can create a better image from a poor one, but not increase the appeal of an already good one. And I think in this case the second part applies...

Cheers,

Hugo
