I think it'a a beautiful, non ordinary portrait! Maybe the focus is not at his "normal" place, but I like this !

Good photo. Dynamic composition and good lighting that gives special mood. Composition is OK, but I darkenthe hang on the right.

Oh Gosh! I have to TOTALLY disagree with David Scherer here, even though he got the front page honor with his comment. The very thing that makes this photo of such interest to me is the fact that the little girl is leaning toward the right, and that it is a super close up cropped close & tight. Your composition and lighting is what seperates this from being an ordinary portrait and turns it into one with a style all it's own. I do agree with Roby, I'd like to see the eyes a bit sharper, but I think you have a gorgeous photo here. Well Done. Dottie

very nice. just a couple of thoughts
1) in such kind of portraits focus must be on the eyes; and if dof is shot u must focus on the closest eye (the one that usually we look the first)
2) i would consider to crop the right side a bit

This is a really good photo. The one thing I think might make it better is if the girl was framed better inside the photo. I can't put my finger on it but maybe pulling back just a tad with the lens to get a bit more details of her chest and head, so the image doesn't seem cropped a bit. It's difficult to do with shadow, but since you have a digital at least you won't have to worry about wasting film trying. :)
