Get back to work Sameer. You're having too much fun. I like the photoshop effect. The saturated colours put the image over the top. I've seen many red maple leaf shots but none as graphically intensive as this one. Good on you.
p.s. You can stop trying to become a photographer now. You are one.

Maggie: The Background is dark but not this much pitch dark in the print. The Adjusting Levels thing in PS really helped in darkening out the Background this much !

Thanks Sameer. Figured it must be the sun giving you the rim but wondered how you got that nice black background! Very nice...I like it very much *smile* ... Maggie.. and I'll save my remark for Detlef for when I see him *G*

Sai,
Print shows all the veins and texture in the Leaf....I would definitely like the texture to show up more that what it is right not. Looks good on the print. Will try PS thingi and check it out......

very nice...abstract indeed...
minor gripe..the red seems saturated enough to lose the detail.. does the print show more detail in the red areas? if it does then you can try changing the color balance in PS to compensate for the red and see..if it shows more detail...

Thanks Det )
And I had forgotten to mention one thing.....
I used "Ctrl-L" and the adjusted levels in PS and applied Unsharp mask and all like Marcus Ward has mentioned in this article on usefilm to make the image colors look like this...

Maggie/Detlef
hmm...should have put something in the Abt section....anyways, here it is....
It is Rim light on a Maple Leaf .... Det is v. smart indeed :-p
There is a Maple tree right outside my office window....shot this leaf on the tree against the 3.00pm Sun. Behind the Tree is the Material Sci Building wall that faces east and hence was in the shadow of the Sun. That provided a nice Black Background. Wiggled around in the window and took 4 shots. This one I like the Best.
Had really really liked Gary's Rim Light shot....hence I tried some... )

Yes Detlef this does look like a maple leaf...Sameer, please share with us..what is it. Whatever it is, it has made a wonderful abstract image. But what is the white edge around it...I'm very curious about this one...*smile*...Maggie
