About I was out in front of my place kayaking around, typically avoiding work (painting).
The sea was alive with life as the Herring fish were spawning just below my porch on the edge of the sea.
At this time of the year every kind of animal is here feasting on the poor small beleaguered fish. The water changes color from a deep green blue to this turquoise tint. the sea is awash with herring sperm.
These guys are huge ..as big as my kayak...it got just a little scary out there but when i felt kind of exposed i just started shooting film and forgot all about the potential danger.
In the distance you can see the local Light house. It's beam lights up my place in the night time.

Having seen the size of some of these guys in Alaska Tim I can fully understand your concern. They can be quite aggressive can't they?
Love the viewpoint you got here. Looks like you're in the water with them.

Great work Tim ! I love the color of the seam and your foreground. I was wondering about the danger aspect ? Even if they menat no harm you and the D70 still get wet

Can only say WOW, to be that near must be wonderful, [but if you found it a 'little scary' I would have been terrified] You have really captured the water, just as you describe it
