Hi Larry, I've just seen your reply to Margaret. Check to see if you've got a lock button for the aperture ring to stop it being inadvertantly altered.
Good shooting.

Yes Margaret, I guess with something new, you need to use it, right? Footnote, today while using it, apparently without removing or reacctching this lens, did it one more time...checked the setting, same thing. Apparently how I was holding it, twisted a bit...gotta be careful.

Great portrait. The red-eye is fabulous--and so is the framing.

Best wishes,

Larry, thanks sooo much for this dedication. There really is no need, I'm just so pleased to be able to help. After all that's part of what this great community is about.
This is such a great image and that lens looks to be ultra sharp!! Looking forward to more results from it.

Thanks Judi, For few hours I had my 90-300 on and off D-70, somehow I changed the appeature setting just one notch, and although lens clicked on camera ok, it would not permit the lens to fire at all. Den and I sent a few emails back and forth and now all is well, what a relief!

If you never encountered this, might be something you might want to file away......:-))

Have a good weekend friend!!
