Actually, there are MANY sea lions living on the docks. People tried to get rid of them because sometimes they climbed up on the boats and... left a mess. Later they realized the tourists love them, so they gave them their own space and let them come and hang out. They (and the tourists) are fun to watch.

you know, I think that that's a good idea-- I can visulize the photo without the sea lion, it might be nice.

Very nice capture... Looks really amusing. I thougt the place is a zoo, but I'm very suprized when I have read that the sea lion lives on dock. Congrats...

Ouch! That hurts just to look at. :-] ... In some ways the inclusion of the sea lion actual detracts from the composition of lines and water. Might be worth a return visit to see.
