About
Windy, with a hint of rain, shot from Eads Bridge which rocked with each car that entered from the East Side, most shots were at 12 - 30 sec but this one at 5 sec gave a rich blue sky the others did not provide. Shot at f9 on tripod, but the wind and constant moving of the bridge did not allow it to be as crisp as desired Lens setting of 28 mm with 28-85 Nikkor zoom iso 200 Ghosting from overhead street lights on bridge occurred, as I was too busy holding the fort (steadying tripod) with wind and car traffic making the walkway shake to shield, though I knew it might impact the shot, had no hood available to use for this particular lens, next time to be better prepared!
I just loved the color and was so surprised that the time was all the difference, I had been shooting around 12 - 30 sec as noted and dropped to 8 sec, just tried a 4 and 5 sec and the blue color popped.
Thanks, you missed a really good time of standing around, being hassled by the Terminal Police Dept (tresspassing and had to move from right dead center of the Arch view and steady ground no wind) broken tripod, long unnecessary walks, hunger, using portajohns, and a overall great time. Photographers must endure to get good shots, that is twice now (recently) I have had treks of great effort all for the sake of art. Sorry you missed it.
Did you shoot this Friday? Looks good. Might crop out the left part of the pic. Hard to make any of it out unless you've been there. I like the city scape side best. I would also like to not see the "thing" in the lower right corner.
