About almost the last in this powder day series, till this upcoming weekend when i am planning on doing it again... this was taken far away from our drop in point far up at the top where the rocks form kind of a triangle on the left side, the tracks are barely visible coming all the way down the left of the image... it was a beautiful day, best riding day i have had in my life, now im looking forward to heli???? if i can ever afford it right!!!!!

thanks for looking, let me know if i can do anything to change this one, or how to make it better next time im at location, far off in Loveland Pass

thanks very kindly alastair, yeah, i am thinking that people havent really looked at the image and just the thumbnail on the photo critique part of the site... i agree with everything you have to say about the image, soft yet with the lines of the snowboard it moves the eye around the image.. i actually tried a bunch of different angles with this one, ending up with this as the final composition, it was the only one where the lines in the background were visible (meaning the snowboard tracks) and the tree wasnt being cropped off by the top of the peak in the background, i felt the white needed to poke just above the top of the tree in the forground to enhance its presance... i feel the images just looked to plain for the forum, to white not enough to draw people in,but no worries right, i got a bunch of good people commenting and giving very welcome feedback on my work.. thank you again alastair for your wonderful comment on my image.

Can't unerstand why no one has commented on this Phil...(saw your comment on Kelly Munce's pics too). I like the colours and definition in this image. You have caught the crispness clean whiteness of the snow really well and contrasted it with the sky superbly. I like the composition of the image too with the lines caused by the snowboard(?) leading the eys through the image, and the way the jet trail in the sky both breaks up the blueness and reinforces the snowboard trail going from the left towards the centre of the image (ok, I know the trail was made the other way but its the way the eye is led I'm referring to). Perhaps having one of the lines coming from the lower left corner and making it more of a major feature of the image would help make the image stronger and with more impact though...? Only thing then is the tree would be in the wrong place.... Perhaps cropping the lower edge of the image might help it slightly too. Only minor things but perhaps they would help.... The trees break up expanse of white snow very well. I like this shot and can't see why no on else has commented! Snow is so difficult to capture well and in this image you've done brilliantly! Keep it up and don't get disheartened....

Alastair
