I call them "eeew" and run! lol
Actually here in Oklahoma we have Daddy Long leggs but they are spiders. The most poisnous spider there is , but since their mouths are so small they cannot bite humans or anything bigger than themselves.

Ahh, it's a crane fly, family Tipulidae. The larvae are like BIG maggots and live in wet areas such as swamps, wet woods, etc. The adults often have rudimentary mouthparts and mostly feed, when they do, on nectar or sap. You did good... :)
