A brilliant image. The only questionable thing being the crop of the hand, I suppose, but it isn't really a problem for me. It still speaks for itself. Beautiful.

Chris,
I love this piece, along with most of your work. The texture that you have added to your abstract photos reminds me of an polaroid emulsion transfer, which Ive always found myself particularly drawn to and would love to master. I do not live in Chicago, but Im about to make the trek to take advantage of the "rampage" offer made in your bio. Kudos!
PS, excellent homepage as well!

I think this is a great and creative shot. I have it as a favorite and it has been making me think. In the interest of being honest, I gotta say (and who am I to say, really?) that the line going down over the nose and mouth I found to be a little distracting. I wish it were either not there, or just somewhere else. On a whole, I like the look and the technique...it requires some skills that I can only aspire to! Thanks for opening my mind to a creative photographic technique.

I like it chris. The tones work, the light on the finger tips really works. This is a really great shot.

Debbie, I used PS only for Colour and resizing. You can either use muliexposure or two frames of film (i prefer the second choice). This must be done with a little bit of training. You must plan what is going to be your final image as well as remember about light on reverse media (negative film) when working in your darkroom. I normally take a photo of a person first and then go and search for my "texture":) Regards.

Chris, you certainly have a unique style. I really liked your "whispers" set of posts. They were very strange to say the least but again unique. These two "Carved-Touch" are quite different as well. I know you must have some sort of PS technique that you use on these?? You could let me know if you like how you accomplish all of this or not if you don't want to. Just really neat stuff you have.

Wow. Great texture and colour. The composition and (perfect?) square frame suggest to me potential use as an album cover. I really really like this type of work. Very cool. Can we expect two more images in this series?
