Roger, Thanks so much for your advice. Its true, hoods are essential equipment. I always use them on my FM2 lenses. I will have to scour Ebay for one that fits my Rolleiflex. Not sure if it will be easy to find given that its a 1939 model! Also I think the hood will also create certain practical problems, not sure how quick it is to put on /take off as it probably won't fit in the 'everready' case.. But as always it pays to have the right gear and preparation! Omar

This ghosting is not only a problem of uncoated lenses, it happens with several lenses I own (inexpensive E.Germand or Russian lenses that I use on my SLR because I prefer to spend more on lenses for my main RF camera). Sometimes, as here, it looks more like mist, and doesn't detract from the image. The only thing you can do to avoid it is (1) always use a good lens hood and (2) not shoot into the light. Hard to avoid the latter, though... Too many people forget the importance of a lens hood, though! It makes a big difference.

Salaam, Arwa.. I didn't really realise that you can see all the comments of friends, I have been checking out all my friends comments now (and yours too!) I'm very happy that you like my latest portraits. I do too, but noticed that not so many people comment so I thought maybe they are boring for others. But clearly people with good aesthetic taste like them so who cares about the rest! ;) Actually its true that I use all manual cameras and film, but I don't do my own developing yet as I don't have the space and equipment, but this is my next step... for now I send off by mail to one of the better labs. I hope this doesn't dissapoint you! Its very kind that you suggested my work for awards! I don't really understand how awards are selected and given, and I stopped really concerning myself with them, but of course would be nice! Actually I find that most of the usefilm photographers whose work I really like have few awards.

Salam omar! Im really glad that I added you to my friends list it enables me to view every single post you make! Not missing any image for any reason! Your last portraits are amazing! I favor your work over many other portraits because of their uniqueness and character Plus the fact that you shoot with film and develop your own work! I suggested your work for awards many times! And I do believe many people enjoy your work :)

I like this wonderful image. Its power comes not from technical perfection (nor imperfection) but from the composition and placement of the elements.
The placement of the couple and the angle of the path.
The position of their bodies and their postures. That communicates tons.
