I've found in my cell phone experiments that shooting into a reflective surface such as a mirror gives much greater detail and in dark lighting a mirror helps to control the light and brighten things.
I'm not sure who was chatting who, it seemed like they already knew each other maybe.

Thanks Shizuka,
It's one of my favorite rings. That couple was havin g an interesting conversation so I wanted to photograph them without disturbing them and the light was better when using the mirror there.
