Lily, I don't know exactls how high we have been, but this was already on the way back, around 1700 meters (5100 feet).

Thanks, Colin for your comprehensive comment, even in German (a little aspect to improve: instead of "Gedächtnis" (memory) you should have used "Erinnerung" (memory), the latter in the sense of souvenir. Deutsche Sprach schwere Sprach;)
The overexposed sky is part of a compromise between the details on the cottages and the details in the mountains. Both at the same time would not have been possible.

A wonderful photo, Markus. There is something special about buildings copying thie landscape, (The island of Lanzarote is another example).
Austria and Switzerland look very special - a photographer's dream ,(although that can be said about many places!) The only aspect to improve, could be the slightly over-exposed sky.

Markus, What elevation were you at? Scenery is gorgeous; must have been a great hike. Everytime we go up to the mountains, the weather is too cold to do much of anything.
