About The waterfall at Nambe Pueblo. Interesting story here - we arrived at 6 PM and the park closed at 8 PM. We went up the easy overlook and then I headed out at 7 on the lower trail. You have to wade through ice cold water and I arrived at 7:15. Started shooting, ended at 7:30, but found this better spot. Ended shooting at 7:45 with a 1/4 mile walk back downriver. Wound up running back to the car, numbed my legs, and wiped out on a sandstone face. By the end I was back at the car at 7:55 and able to clear the gate right at 8 PM. The timing was too close, but I'm pleased with the final position and look of the waterfall.

FYI - the Sigma lens can take a beating.

Long, long exposure with multiple shots. The waterfall was in deep shadow and the cliffs in bright setting sunlight. I had to merget two seperate 2 stop shots together to overlap blown highlights in one and complete darkness in the other. After that, PSed the heck out of several zones through masking.

B+W UV filter.

Lots of work went into this, but the result was well worth it!

Thank you for the nice about story, and the PS history: quite interesting example of an image that looks real but only after massive afterwork with PS. Your result shows probably the impression your eyes and visual cortex had from this motif, and it was an impossible shot even with the dynamic range of film. Excellent result !

I'm not sure how high they are - biggish? Certainly not small.
