This is a great shot, Daniel. Good to see your style is like your dad's! I think the only thing that could make this shot that much better is an increase in contrast. That would really make this image POP. Great work!

great, dramatic photo. Very nice B&W tones you created here.
The angle is very good although I think the framing could be a little higher (loose the ground, get more sky). The grass at the bottom is not so interesting, but the clouds above the castle are!

You have done a great job with the added sky. I like that you have used sepia toning on this. It adds a feeling of mystery and foreboding. The castle itself is such a moody structure looking more a part of the landscape than something manmade. I have added this to favorites. One nit: I think desaturating the toning just a little might make it even better.

Nice image with a great mood, your rework is excellent, but I must be honest with you, I think it would be better you don?t take the habit to put skies, clouds or other objects in your photos, instead take a lot of shots and try to compose them before the click to get the effect you want. I hope this doesn?t sound bad to you, it?s only a suggestion ;) Bye, Max

Hi Daniel great to see you on the site. and it was lovely to meet you. It really was a fun filled happy day wasn't it. This is really excellent, despite having the whole castle in it, the details are still really good, [you can read the time on the clock] Great composition. No wonder Marky was chasing round so much, he was trying to stop you getting all best shots and showing him up LOL [ssshhhh don't tell him I said that :)] Margaret THank you for your comments, I was lucky with the misty morning shot, I went for an early morning walk and had just gone over the canal bridge and for some reason turned round nd the misty was just drifting across the bridge so no real chance to compose just shot it.

Tel you what Daniel, you couldn't learn from two more talented photographers (especially your Da!) and two nicer people... But they are unfortunately both complete nutters so keep your wits about you!
Great to see you on UF... and this is a cracking shot to open with. Great toning work, and a perspective that really helps bring the best out from the castle! Well done!!! Now all we need to do is convince Danny Brannigan that a football shirt is meant to be Black and White!

Beautiful shot, Daniel; very dramatic...gorgeous tonal quality; marvelous skyscape and detail.
One suggestion: next shot, try bringing the camera up just a bit to lose a little of the foreground and get in more of that magnificent skyscape.
