I'm sure that's what the glow is from Wez. If you want, e-mail me a copy of the untouched image, and I'll show you what I would do. Then I'll tell you how i did it :) I have worked in graphic design/digital prepress for about 5 years, using photoshop everyday for roughly 3-5 hours a day.

Chris, thanks a lot for your very useful comment.
I used photoshop fo increase the brightness (+45ish) and contrast (+20ish) of the rocks and the sea.
The white glow is a result of the feathering from the magnetic lasso tool (i think!). I might try again with no feathering set to see what the outcome is like. Personally, though obviously not realistic i kind of like that white line on the horizon in this case. I think it adds a magical quality to the scene. Ill repost another version without that white glow when i get back from my hols!

An interesting seascape image. The composition is well done, the only thing bugging me is the ovbious photohsop retouching of the sky/horizon. The king of whiteish glow to the horizon is a def. give away. I would reccommend doing the opposite...ie: darkening everything including the very top of the horizon slightly. If you can't get a perfect transition from light to dark on the horizon, I find it better to have the land/horizon to be a little darker than the sky, than to have a white glow on the sky.
