About "As long as the work is coming from a personal experience,a personal vision,a personal way of being, when it comes from those 3 things I think photojournalism still has a big, huge voice, bigger than television."

Photojournalist,Alex Majoli,Magazine photographer of the year 2004 for his work with Newsweek magazine

Photojournalism is all about provocative images; capturing imagination and stimulating passion. Another great one in your series.

....Looks like the Stars and Stripes are fading fast (along with the ideals and freedoms it represents) Oh, what a shame.... but anyone paying attention knows it's been a long time coming. Great Image Gayle, says a lot.(and that's what makes a great photojournalism shot). Take Care, Mark

..."faded glory" indeed. Your image speaks volumes, Gayle...far more eloquently than any words I've read.

This image is so powerful in its' presentation.
We have so many to thank.
So much to be thankful for.
We have so much responsibility....to our own, and to others who seek the freedoms and liberties that we have.

So many people take the position of "our nose does not belong elsewhere". I respect this opinion, even if I don't always agree with it. That is one of the reasons that I love our country....for the freedom that we all have to express ourselves. And you're right; it needs to be done respectfully, and with an open mind towards others perspectives.

I admire your efforts in presenting Photojournalism as a "window" of our collective consciences. I'm glad that it stirs emotions the way that it does. It requires great skill and control to debate issues while using both facts and emotions. Thanks for the opportunity that you've provided for us to express ourselves, while remaining for the most part, civil.
