Yes, Mark, there is a continual procession of people getting their pictures made with this icon. The first few times I visited, I thought this practice was pretty tacky, but now, I kinda like it. As you say, it is amusing. Thanks . . . --g

Beautifully framed and a sense of pilgrimage from the picture. What makes me laugh is the one guy standing on the left with his hand's on his hips as if joining in the Victory.

I didn't understand the fascination with this statue, after all there are better ones in the Louvre. When I went there I liked the stairs and the arches most; but maybe I'm just a philistine after all I thought the Mona Lisa was nothing to write home about..... Nice shot George.

Beautiful capture George, I love the symmetry of the archway and the details in the etchings...the people are well spaced and add interest as well as give scale to the image...very nice composition...well done....:):)
