Thnak you, Colin. You're absolutely right about the class of our compact, of course. About the Hoya lens, its a set of the so-called 'diopters', or dioptric 'filters', if you like. With all three of them you get relatively good magnifcation in terms of size (with full zoom), but quality suffers a bit, I guess. A better solution to macro photography is what Domjan Svilkovic proposed - using a reversed 50mm f/2.8 (or faster) lens and an adapter (my adapter is LensMate, but I haven't got such a lens yet). He has great ideas with his A75, fully applicable to our A95 too. You could take a look at his profile, here's a link: http://www.usefilm.com/photographer/77771.html

Still flying the flag for the A95! I think, under the circumstances, you've done remarkably well! 7.
In response to Gustav, you can't get absolute sharpness, with the limitations of the A95. It is very good, but we both know, Denitsa, it is not in the same class as DSLRs, 4 or 5 times the price! Do you recommend this hoya lens, for macro work?
Colin

Thank you very much, Gustav. I'm not offended in the least! On the contrary, I'm glad that you took some time to comment on my picture. You are right, it is far from perfect in terms of sharpness (it was one of the first images I took with my Hoya close-up set and I have to practise a lot more until I get used to handling it). It is good to receive critical comments, so that I can train my eye to look for uncompromising sharpness, which is especially important in macro, I believe. Best regards and thank you once again! Denitsa

Thank you, Margaret. Indeed, it so happened that two butterflies looking alike were uploaded almost at the same time. That's why my eye was immediately drawn towards your perfect shot, too. Thanks for commenting, I'm glad that you like my picture. Best regards, Denitsa

yes, it is a very well composed macro but...it defintely lacks sharpness IMO. The colors are very nice.No intention to offend you with my frank comment as to DOF. Have a wonderful day. Gustav
