Man, you sure have captured some pretty skys. THis shot stands on it's own as a landscape shot, that it has the little boy in the foreground to add scale and interest only adds to it.

Paolo. 30x30 and 30x45 look really good if original photo (file for digital) is good. I think For this sizes needed 6MPx and more. Or medium format (MF).

Thanks Paolo for you comment! Yes grain looks no good on small web size, but looks perfect when printing on a paper with 30x30cm.

wonderful composition, square crop and bw tones but for my opinion grainy effect appears too much artifact, it seems to be a jpeg artifact

Keseph, thanks for so detailed things about this work! I'm also like how light & shadows playing on the sky, water and ground. Yes. It's a boy, my son.

As I see it, the pattern of shadows on the foreground grass acts as a continuation of the pattern of the reflected clouds on the water. That's a good thing. This pattern there (on the foreground right) forms a darker area that is likewise mirrored on the left side by darker grasses. The lighter area of the foreground center, as such defined, leads the eye to the water's right edge, then the light clouds reflected on the water, defined by a dark edge, lead the eye upwards to the left. Although this white band goes out of the shot on the left edge, the eye catches the dark band of reflected trees at the upper edge of the water, which leads the eye as this dark band narrows to the center of the shot. This dark band is also mirrored on the opposite side, in case the eye goes right. Light grasses in the center, balanced by taller dark trees right and left, lift the eye up. V-shaped clouds, more defined on the right but still on the left, lead the eye...back to the foreground.
Throughout the shot there is a pleasing repetition of light,dark,light,dark...chiaroscuro in a landscape!
The boy? Wonderful.

Very nice shoot with a great subject. I like the kid in it. You have really pulled the clouds to give a feel of depth. Congrats. Michael
