I love this shot with a story. It gives people the chance to look at a photo differently, it becomes more than just a photo! The slats of the blinds in contrast with the blue on the screen are of great effect. Things happen when you have "conversations with Anthony", don't they?! Love from Gabriela

Re: RAW, Ant, I took three shots in RAW yesterday, and I cannot see them in my programs. I'm not a computer dummy, I have the Canon software, I have Pixmantec RAW Shooter, etc. and none of them reads the RAW? I have to do some reading. Until then, it's still jpegs for me. PS 7.0 doesn't read RAW, either, it needs an additional plug-in. I think I have a problem.

Thanks, Neal :) It's a different shot, not my usual. I generally don't take interior pictures because I hate the flash. I guess those first 40 dummy pictures had trained my hand for the last one.

Nice cropping job. I really enjoy that bright blue against the whitish background. What a stroke of luck to be able to squeeze in one quick shot and have it turn out so well. Love the title too, and the story.

Actually, I wanted a Nikon 70, but in 2004 they were much more expensive than the Rebels. The Canon also has a funny design, where you can insert the CF card the wrong way (which happened to me) and I bent the pins inside the camera. Otherwise, I'm happy with the images, they are clean. This one was taken inside, without flash, handheld with the 70-300mm lens, at the short end, I barely had room to back away from the window, and it's the only one I've got (till next year when they wash the windows again). In a way it turned out good, because with the squegee, I wouldn't have looked at the computer screen, it would have been a different image. Here it is uncropped:

Hehe Ina - I'm the shadow eh? Perceptive indeed! I love the effect on the slats of the blinds, and that sort of image in general. Point well-made (I think!) I enjoyed it lots ;-)
BTW, a Nikon wouldn't allow one to shoot pics absent a CF card...WOOT - looks like a firmware upgrade is in order from the House of Canon! Great that you got yr Rebel back. Are you shooting RAW now Ina?
