The power of infrared light. Brightness and contrast tweaked, but no burning or dodging or other shenanigans. The light was just right earlier this month, late afternoon. Thanks for looking and please tell me what you think!
Full-on drama, and ominous signs in the sea and sky, that's what I think. It's infused with theatrics; not gloomy or foreboding. It's very alive and charged with energy. People are either good with infrared, or they're not. I think it has a lot to do with personal style, or something like it. And for me, an infrared photograph either works, or falls short. No in-betweens or so-so. This is one that succeeds.
Thanks Kathy! I wanted to get a distinctive image from this part of Miami, just a mile or so from the infamous South Beach. Most photos I've seen from here celebrate the color of Florida, the sunshine, beach, babes and nightlife. Infrared provides a more introspective, surreal, darker flavor to any landscape, and I thought would work well. Clouds against blue are especially dramatic in infrared, and each afternoon the rain clouds moved in, giving so much added interest to the skyline. I'm glad you like it! Tim
I don't understand IR at all, but I really like this image. The B&W tones are really good. The lighting is really nice, too, and those clouds!!! Nicely done, Tim! Kathy
