I love this shot with it's rich tones and great details Clay. Well done to you. Quite a few modern day violinists use this modern day version, they are often electric versions and still produce good sounds though I don't think they are as warm sounding as the traditional ones. Best wishes to you.

Hi Clay,did you know that the The word violin is from the Middle Latin language(was the form of latin use during the middle ages) word Vatula. Which translated to Stringed Instrument(an instrument that makes sound by vibrating strings, like the guitar).Very nice picture!..

I am not 100% sure if it was for a special purpose or just a custom made violin. I did a quick internet search and couldn't find a violin that looked similar in style. I also noticed that this violin is missing 1 string. So I don't know if that was intentional or not. Maybe just left off for a particular sound. I'll see what I can find out about it and pass it along.
