Q. Circular Polariser

Hi guys, Ive recently got myself a Cannon 400D and I'm gonna start uploading some photos again, thought Id better get myself kitted out but I was playing with my Polariser lens and I cant seem to make it err. . . work! I know you have to turn it but I cant seem to see any massive difference between photos where I've spun the lens round, is there any sort easy test that I can go try to get me into it, like. . . a subject that shows the effecto ff really well? Cheers.

I tried mine out first on water. I took one without it and then 'played' with the polariser to take away the reflection. I could really see the difference. You can try it on a car window that has a glare from the sun on it, also.

Another suggestion: you need to be at right angles to the sun (or thereabouts). Watch the sky when you rotate the lens.

Also for a digital camera a circular polarizer is better than a linear polarizer.

Thanks folks, I have had a little luck with it, also like you said mary, I tried it on glass and water, can see the difference there its just the 'vibrant colours' im strugglnig to obtain.
