Q. N90 Question

I have an N90 that I purchased used. The only problem I'm having with it is right above the Nikon name there is a plastic piece that glows when the camera is on. The plastic piece has fallen inside the camera housing. Is there any safe way to retrieve it? Can it do any harm floating around inside? Should I just put some black tape over the hole to keep out moisture? Thanks in advance..........

That plastic piece is to let light in to that you can see the LCD on the bottom of the viewfinder. If you can still see that alright, I wouldn't worry about it. Tape might impair your ability to see that LCD in the viewfinder. If you really think that you will be shooting in places that moisture might get in there, take it(or send it) to a Nikon repair center. I don't think there is a way for you to repair that yourself.
