Q. scanner

My scanner used to be alot better. But now it sucks!! any suggestions? maybe a new scanner is in order.

Some possibilities:
- optics need cleaning
- lightsource worn out
- filmtransport worn out

if the first, you can do something about it. If one of the others, have it serviced (or replaced, depending on how old it is and what you'd have to pay for repairs).
Best have it looked at by an expert (especially if still under warranty), unless you were thinking of getting a new one anyway.
