Q. half black photo problems

Hi,
I am using digital canon D300. I have problem with photos recently, whenever I take a photo it comes half in black. I changed the lens, I tried to photograph with or without flash in all moods and also changed the memory card and still having the same problem. Does any one faced such a thing before? I am taking it to the workshop soon but I need to have an idea of what might be the problem before going.

I'm not an expert on these things, but if it's always the same part of the photo, it looks like a technical problem (perhaps the mirror doesn't open completely?).
