  Q. ETRSi Mirror Lock Up

Asked by Mel Davies    (K=20) on 6/11/2011
I have recently dug out my old ETRSi and added a Motor Winder Ei as I wish to re visit black & white photography with a view to film scanning and digital printing.

I cannot figure out how to use the mirror lock up with the winder - there are no instructions in the winder manual with regard to this.

The only instructions in the ETRSi camera manual say to return the lock up lever after taking the shot and before cocking the shutter. This is obviously not possible with the motor winder.

Anyone come across this one before ?

Mel

Replying to myself I worked out the answer.

As the shutter is cocked when the shutter release button is released the procedure is:-
1. Lock up the mirror.
2. Press the shutter release button to take the shot.
3. DON'T release the the button or cable release.
4. Return the mirror to normal position.
5. Release the shutter release button to cock the shutter for the
next shot.
