In my opinion, for colour prints agfa optima is the best (for a large kinds of photos, maybe non for all). For b/w prints i usually use a kodax Tmax. Regards, Andrew.

Well, that is very difficult. It depends on your preferences and your taste in the photography.
For b&w-portrait-photos, i use: Ilford Pan F 50 or Ilford XP2, for nude agfa APX 100 or Ilford Delta 3200.
for color-portrait-photos, you can take agfa or kodak portrait-film (160er).
Afga Optima is a good color-allround-film.
Ilford Pan F 50 is a excellent b&w film for lots of things. Not for all, of cause.
Just try some films...

If You are newcomer in this format, choose b/w film depending on film processing circumstances - just ask your lab which developer they use. And choose the same brand film till you can make your own decisions according experience.
There are a lot of fairy tales about different brands and best thing to do - just try different combinations till best results.
I use wide range of bw films and my impressions are:
Kodak Tmax - soft and flexible, more universal, more expensive. Kodak Trix - crisp, silver - shining, vintage looking, nice when flare is acceptable. Kodak PlusX - unbelievable tonal range, very flexible, good for scanning. Ilford Delta - "user friendly", "forgiving exposure mistakes", Ilford PanF - maybe the one choice from most common contemporary films if you need ISO 25. Agfa APX - satin looking, nice dark tones, but a bit grainy on Kodak developers. It's my personal impressions, not a verdict for all these brands.
My favorite is Kodak Trix, I developing it by my own with Kodak Xtol developer.
And ... you must confess for such a camera :)
