Recommend anything with 'F' and '2' in the name!

These are rock solid professional cameras - expect them to last a lifetime.

I'd agree with Raoul. He's thinking of the FM2, the FE2, and the F2. I don't think the F2 is a great all-around camera, but lots of fun for a full-manual camera. If it has a metering prism on it, it's probably going bad by now.

The FM2 is fully-manual, the FE2 has an aperture-priority setting, which is nice. Being fully-manual, the FM2 will work perfectly without batteries, though the meter won't work. The FE2 has an electronic shutter, which some say works better and requires less maintenance than the mechanical shutter. But when it does need maintenance, it's more expensive to fix.

There's also the F3, which is probably more expensive than it's worth to you, and the FM3A, which is probably not available used, but would be a fantastic manual focus camera.

Since you want an inexpensive camera, the FE2 or FM2 is your best bet, though they're still not cheap.
