Q. Canon i9900 ponderings

Hello all

I recently purchased a Canon i9900 and now I must deliberate on paper choices. The first project I wish to pursue with the printer is outputting my black & white images for a portfolio book. Does anyone have any inkjet paper recommendations for use with this printer? Also, is there anything special I need to do to print on brands other than Canon such as Epson or Ilford? Thanks so much!
