  Q. Recommendations

Asked by JoAnn Hankins    (K=4) on 10/12/2003
Has anyone done business with B&H Photo or Digital Photo through their online services? I am looking at a lens, but don't want to get burned.

B&H is the best, I have bought thousands from them online with no problems at all.

You cannot go wrong with B&H. They are the best.

B&H is good but they take way too many vacations/holidays...
Adorama is good too....B&H is gonna be closed until 19th Oct..so i am gonna go with Adorama...

Both B & H and Adorama are good houses with ethical people. They are also both owned and operated by Orthodox Jewish people who are not permitted to work on the Sabbath or many holidays. They do not close for vacation, just religious observances.

If you check out Adorama's web site, you'll see that they also are not shipping until Oct. 20.

Patience, patience

i know the reason they close is for religious holidays..
but i dint realize adorama was closed until 20th too...that sucks (for me)

i thought in the past there were times when B&H was closed but adorama was open...may be i am wrong..

this is america...no time for patience...need things on demand :-)

I like freestylephoto.biz -- always open, lots of unusual items, ship fast, no glitches, great webste, prices in line with B&H. Great for holga stuff, film, paper and the rest.

B&H is the way to go.

I have had success with both Adorama and B&H. One place I have been burned with more than once is Tristate Camera and Video. Now, I normally would not mention names, and you didn't ask about this company, but it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
By the way, has anyone ever been to B&H in NY? Now THAT'S a store.
