Q. Northern Arizona

I will be in Flagstaff Arizona in two weeks. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice regarding the Flagstaff area. I am aware of Sedona and Sunset Crater but I am looking for specific suggestions as to time of day, fall colors etc. I'm going to pass on the Grand Canyon this trip unless there is a seasonal attraction. Thanks in advance. John B

I was in Sedona in May of 2005. An awesome hike I took in the area was The West Fork up in Oak Creek Canyon. There is great landscape photography available on this trail.

If you have the time, do not miss the Slot Canyons in Page, AZ. You will have to join one of the Indian (Navajo) tours, but it is well worth it. Also, ask a local about Horseshoe Bend in the Colorado. Magnificent. Best time in the Slots, 10:00AM - 1:00PM when the sun filters down the canyon walls...
