Q. Sony F828 on the market in the USA is identical to the one on the market in Europe?

Sorry for asking such a naive question but no one could give me a straight forward answer.

There is no Sony F828 "on the market" in the US or Europe at this time. Latest Sony website info puts the release date at late December 2003 or early January 2004.

I would expect the cameras released to be the same world wide but possibly under different names.

Canon released their latest digital SLR under three names:

300D (Europe)
KISS (Japan-Asia)
Digital Rebel (North America)

With the exception of the Asian KISS which has a Canon USM motor system in the 'kit' lens, all models are the same.

Perhaps Sony will follow a similar path.
