  Q. Wanted: 28mm PC (Perspective control) Nikon manual focus lens
Roger Williams
Asked by Roger Williams   Donor  (K=86139) on 12/18/2003
I'd prefer an old F/4 lens of this type, and I don't care if the perspective control is defective provided that if it's jammed, it is jammed in normal not shifted position. I want it to cover a 55mm diam. image circle on 120 film in a rotary camera.

Thanks, Chris, but it has to be 28mm to make 360-degree panoramas with the optimum ratio of vertical depth to length of the image around the circle. I mentioned "old" lenses because it was quite common in earlier days to design lenses with larger than necessary image circles so that the quality would be higher in the central area actually used. That is no longer true: computerized design matches image circle to frame size, and there's very little image left outside it.

Roger,

Yeah I read that you wanted a 28mm after I made the post..

Are you still looking for this lens? I have a Nikon PC-Nikkor, 28mm, 1:35 perspective lens. Let me know if you want to discuss this item. Thanks. Keith
