  Q. Photo Size
Robert Elias
Asked by Robert Elias    (K=1281) on 1/27/2004
I uploaded a photo at 90 ppi and adjusted the size so that I did not exceed the 300 KB limit. The image that shows up on the site seems to rather small compared to others. Does it have to do with the JPG "Quality" the image was saved at? What would be a good "Quality" to use? Can I delete an image, change the appropriate parameters and upload it again?
Does doing so count as that day's upload?
Thanks,
Robert

The image you uploaded was only 333 pixels wide. The limit is 640 pixels wide so yours is about half the size allowed so will be smaller. If you go to the Help section you will get image sizing directions, but here's a copy of the info --

Open the image size dialog box (Photoshop or similar image editing software), make sure constrain proportions is checked and resample is set to bicubic. Now set the resolution at 72 dpi. At the top of the dialog box, you will see a field called pixel dimensions (make sure it is giving you the values in pixels, which is usually the default), it will give you a _____x______ dimension. You need to set the larger of the two numbers to 640, the other will be a value less than 640. Click OK, File, Save as, then choose file type JPG, the directory you want to save the file in and then click save. You may now upload your image to usefilm.com.
