  Q. Any periodicals dedicated to film photography?

Asked by Mike Beggs    (K=108) on 1/31/2004
Does anyone know of a periodical that only addresses film photography? All the magazines I can find are spending more and more space on digital techniques and equipment. Nothing against digital, but there are digital-only publications, where are the film-only ones?

Certainly there are.
Black and White photography is completely dedicated to BW photography and darkroom work for example, and there are others.

It's mainly the mass market mags that are following the trend and spending their time where the massmarket advertising money is, which is in digital.

Don't have the URL for them here...

Well I would try:

Aperture
lenswork
viewcamera
camera arts
black and white

Those will probably be a healthy dose of film photography :)

B&W, Aperature and once in a while Peterson's. Unfortunately all are headed toward Digital articles EXCEPT Black & White. Go to your big libraries and dig out back issues of DARKROOM TECHNIQUE. Now defunct, but by far the best magazine ever published for photography. ( My understanding is that Porn Publisher LARRY FLYNT was the publisher-not sure though) I have the last issue to come forth -a great magazine up to very last.
