  Q. WTB Film Scanner

Asked by David Scherer    (K=309) on 2/20/2005
I'm looking for a half decent dedicated film scanner, but I am on a tight budget. I'm hoping someone has an older scanner they are wiling or wanting to retire and let go for a fair price. Something like the old Polaroid QuickScans or ES-10 SCSI Scanners from Olympus. (I think) My budget is about $175.00 Canadian Dollars Max, shipping extra.

The target range of resolution I need is listed below. I'm not going to expect miracles for $175.00 CDN, but anything readers might have to fit the bill would be great. If a scanner needs to interpolate to go up a little higher that's fine too. I just want to be specific that I would prefer a dedicated film scanner, not a flatbed with transparency adapter. No cheap brands iether like Pacific Image etc. Thanks!

i have a canon canoscan 2720 that i'm not using anymore. it's about 2 yrs old but was only used for 1 yr and is now sitting on the shelf. it does 35mm slide and print film. also has the aps adapter dohickey. combined with vuescan it did a really good job. are you on mac or windows? it ran fine on xp but i never could find a driver for os x. let me know if you're interested and you can have it.

Hi, many thanks for this offer! What price range were you looking to get for this Scanner. Perhaps you can e-mail me and we can work out final details.
