  Q. Welcome to the Panoramic Photography Forum

First post, to anyone who clicks on "Panorama" forum, WELCOME!

My first on-topic post is to recommend an altnerative to QuickTime, the program that is most widely available for viewing panoramas in Virtual Reality (VR) mode. Unfortunately it is only available for Windows machines, but it has the advantage of being able to playback QuickTime VR panoramas, and other types of panorama (cylindrical, etc.) without requiring you to download 30MB of files including iTunes, and without constant nagging to pay for an upgrade.

The program is DevalVR, available at www.devalvr.com. DevalVR is completely free for personal use, and has no spyware or other trickery.

The descriptions/menus/commands are available in both English and Spanish. It is a small program and has very modest hardware requirements, although pannings and zooming inside a panorama are faster and smoother with better hardware.

At the moment, Usefilm doesn't provide server side support for VR panoramas, but if you download DevalVR to your desktop and copy any 360-degree panoramas to it, you will see them in VR mode. I have several 360-degree panoramas that you can try.
