Oooh, Chris, sounds like a very cold dip.;) The consumate photographer...rescuing your equipment. I agree that this foreground adds depth...a wonderful photo!:)

You're welcome, Chris!:)

Thank you Shirley,

It would have been much more frosty on the foliage but when I got there I fell in while trying to stand to close to the edge a bit further up stream.

Got wet up to my knees and had to go back to the car and get changed. I did manage to push the tripod over onto land though otherwise it would have gone in the water with my 30D on top of it.

I did take some with less foreground but I think this version adds some depth to the picture and gives some foreground interest.

Great shot but I, too, find the foreground distracts from the misty morning look of the rest of the photo.

What a beautiful peaceful scenery. I personally wouldn´t crop off the bottom as it gives a nice sense of DOF. Just lovely.
Best wishes

very nice peaceful morning capture (looks like morning) and good depth/composition.

Great atmosphere in this image. I also found the foreground distracting. Perhaps a light gaussian blur locally applied to soften the foreground.

Beautifull athmosphere in this shot, I think the foreground is a bit distracting though due to excessive light, maybe if you darken and desaturate a bit the foreground it will merge better with the overall image. Just a thought! Still a great shot!

Rod
