About Location: Mezel, Alpes, Provence, France.

During early July the lavender fields for which Provence is justifiably famous are just about at their blooming peak and ready to harvest. They are laid out in the most exquisitely photogenic fashion forming row after row of vivid shimmering blue and accompanied by the deafening hum of a million bees drunk on the sweet scented nectar. I was particularly taken with the little dilapidated barn amidst the colourful carpet of lavender.
